The Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for a tenure track position in Solid Earth Petrology/Geochemistry at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants should be able to contribute to an existing internationally known program in analytical, observational and theoretical petrology, solid Earth geochemisty and geodynamics. We have a preference for candidates who have expertise in magmatic and chemical processes of the whole Earth (and planets), rock-fluid interactions, tectonics, geochronology and volcanic/hydrothermal systems. We seek scholars with the desire to teach classes in their discipline at the undergraduate and graduate levels and who show evidence of strong research trajectories. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an active, externally funded research program that includes supporting and mentoring graduate students. Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests compliment and enhance existing research programs in the Department ( Researchers who would benefit from our established and new analytical facilities (field emission EMPA and MC-ICP-MS) are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences and preferably have some post-doctoral experience. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.
