Sponsors: International Association for the Advancement of High Pressure Science and Technology (AIRAPT) and American Physical Society (APS) Topical Group on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter (APS-SCCM)
Chairs: Choong-Shik Yoo (Washington State University), Gilbert Collins (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory), and David Moore (Los Alamos National Laboratory)
AIRAPT organizes an international conference on high pressure science and technology once every two years covering a wide range of topics. This conference will include a number of science talks relevant to Deep Carbon Observatory (DCO) interests. One such talk is a special session on "The Deep Carbon Budget" by Russell Hemley (Geophysical Laboratory Director) and Giulia Davis (UC Davis, DCO Physics and Chemistry Chair and Executive Committee Member). Several DCO collaborators are also involved in the conference as part of the Technical Committee, including Roberto Bini (UNIFI), Paul McMillan (University College London), and Reini Boehler (Carnegie Institution of Washington).
