Description:

The Deep Carbon Observatory (DCO) is a multidisciplinary, international initiative to achieve transformational understanding of carbon’s role in Earth’s interior. The DCO is promoting innovative research strategies and collaborations as well as a network of analytical facilities. Insights from chemistry, physics, biology, and the Earth sciences will merge to elevate our understanding of carbon’s role in the complex interdependencies of nonliving and living processes, from Earth’s surface to great depth and from nano to global scales, including the full range of Earth’s 4.56-
