Early Career Scientists in Future Scientific Ocean Drilling Workshop

 

Planning for the next scientific ocean drilling program is underway, and an ambitious science plan focusing on a suite of urgent, fundamental, and societally-relevant scientific problems will be published in early 2011.
 

This workshop, specifically aimed at early career scientists in Earth, Ocean and Life Sciences, will provide an opportunity to share ideas for new projects and experiments that fit within the new science plan. Through
presentations, small group discussions, and a tour of the Gulf Coast Repository, participants will begin the process of forming researchcollaborations and learn how to become active members of the drilling community.
 

The workshop will take place March 30-April 1, 2011, in College Station, Texas.  Applicants may be a graduate student, post-doctoral researcher, or early career scientist (completed Ph.D. within the past ten years).
