The technical program included 87 oral and poster presentations featuring
significant theme sessions on Eastern Shale Plays; Carbon Sequestration;
Geochemistry of Produced Waters; Carbonate Sedimentology, Stratigraphy,
and Diagenesis; and Geology and Petroleum Resource Potential of the
Atlantic Coastal Plain and Offshore.  There will also be an Energy Policy
Forum on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 27. 

Some spectacular field trips were available: the Natural Gas Potential of
the Sanford sub-basin, North Carolina; the early Mesozoic Culpeper basin,
Virginia and Maryland; and a two-day trip to the Marcellus Shale in
Virginia and West Virginia.

Technical workshops were presented on: Microseismic Monitoring of
Hydraulic Fractures; Understanding the Reservoir - Characterization,
Modeling; and Monitoring for CSS, and a Gas Shales workshop featuring the
research of the Department of Energy, the Research Partnership to Secure
Energy for America, and the Petroleum Technology Transfer Council
